Crash course in Baroque dance and notation

An online workshop in Baroque dance basics: an overview of commonly used steps and some of their variants, and of the relationship between dance and music in different rhythms and meters.  There will also be an introduction to the Baroque dance notation system that was used to record and publish ballroom and theatre dances in the early 18th century.

Taught online via Zoom.  Movement sequences will be designed for small spaces.  Suitable for those with little or no Baroque dance experience who would like a concentrated introduction to the material.

1:30-3:00 movement session: warmup, steps, and step sequences
 break
3:15-4:15 lecture and discussion: Beauchamps-Feuillet notation
 break
4:30-5:30 practical session: learning steps from notation
