Maire Clement has experience teaching many ages, experience levels, and styles of music. She received her Masters of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Louisville, where she also worked as a graduate teaching assistant in both the voice and music therapy departments. Ms. Clement instructed music therapy majors how to sing in different genres and styles to suit their clinical aspirations. By teaching them to listen critically to the style of their model artists, her students learned how to appropriately replicate common musical genres. She also co-taught a voice class for non-music majors that focused on the basics of vocal technique and performance practices. In addition to the classroom courses, Ms. Clement taught private lessons to undergraduate music therapy majors. While in Louisville, Maire taught voice students from the ages of 8-16 years old at the Folsom Academy of the Arts and 8-40 years old at Guitar Center in Louisville, KY. When Maire finds her way back to her hometown of Minnesota, she teaches private lessons to members of the church choir she grew up singing in. Maire has prepared students for competitions, performances, and auditions for admittance in schools, musicals, and choirs. Here in Massachusetts, Maire is the voice teacher for Walpole High School.
Maire Clement is also a passionate performer. In Louisville, she originated the role of Darling Donnis in a new opera titled The Final Battle for Love by Phillip Thompson with the Thompson Street Opera Company. She has also performed with the Kentucky Opera, the Lakes Area Music Festival in Minnesota, and internationally in Italy and Canada. For more information, see: http://maireclement.com
